- The village of Le Bournat is a reconstruction of a Perigordian village of yesteryear, with all the craftsmen and women who lived there.
- The Gouffre de Proumeyssac, one of the most sumptuous in the region, also near the village of Le Bugue.
- The village of Rocamadour with the Rocher des Aigles, and the Forêt des Singes, 2 tourist sites 50 minutes’ drive from the campsite, where you’ll have a great time with family, friends or as a couple.
- The Gouffre de Padirac on the road to Brive, about 45 minutes by car. The Gouffre is France’s first underground site.

- The bastide town of Monpazier, a bastide town in the land of bastides (Beaumont, Villeréal, Belvès…), a village frozen in time with its central cobbled square and arches.

For lovers of nature and wide open spaces, Périgord is a hiking paradise. From the Le Daguet campsite, there are several signposted foot paths taking you through rolling countryside, shady undergrowth and charming hamlets typical of the Périgord Noir region. In particular, you’ll have the chance to discover the famous dry-stone huts, known as bories, by following the itineraries to Daglan or the trails referenced by maisonpierreseche.org.
Tours are available at the campsite reception to help you organize your outings. You’ll be able to take advantage of them to gather all the useful advice we can provide thanks to our in-depth knowledge of the area.
Cyclists and mountain bikers will not be outdone: small country roads, forest tracks and suitable trails provide the ideal playground for sporting or contemplative outings. For even more freedom, mountain bikes can be hired in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle via bike-bus.com.
Whether you’re with family, friends or on your own, these routes will enable you to explore the Dordogne in a different way, at the pace of nature.
Other sports and outdoor activities
Périgord also offers a wealth of activities for sports enthusiasts and thrill-seekers. Canoeing is a must for navigating the Dordogne and admiring the castles from the river. Castles, manors and abbeys to discover
Castles are one of the wonders of Périgord. There are many to visit. Most of Périgord’s finest châteaux are less than half an hour from Le Daguet campsite.
- The Château de Beynac, a medieval fortress, dominates the Dordogne valley from the top of its cliff.
- The Château de Castelnaud, a listed historic monument, offers a magnificent panoramic view of Beynac, Marqueyssac and La Roque Gageac.
- At the Renaissance-style Château des Milandes, former home of Josephine BAKER, you can watch a magnificent show of birds of prey.
- The Manoir de Gisson in Sarlat, a listed historic monument, is located in the heart of the protected area of the old town.
- Maison Forte de Reignac, the only clifftop castle in France to remain totally intact! It’s richly furnished, and a surround sound system further immerses you in this very special place.
- Château de Puymartin, located between Sarlat and Les Eyzies, was built in the XIIᵉ century, then destroyed during the Hundred Years’ War and rebuilt around 1450. It was at this time that the legend of the White Lady, walled up by a jealous husband, was born! Her ghost has already appeared to several people… perhaps you’ll feel her presence when you visit the château!
- Cadouin Abbey, an ancient monastery listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, nestled in the Besséde forest between the Dordogne and Couze rivers.
- The château de Biron a listed historic monument and a real treasure from the 11th century.
